DevalVR example - Formats comparison: MOV and JPEG

This example compares the same panorama in two different formats QTVR format (.MOV) and equirectangular JPEG (.JPG).

To build MOV file Pano2QTVR program was used, with Lanczos3 interpolator and 40% Jpeg quality. To fix same image quality for two formats, the original BMP file was converted with Acdsee to Jpeg format with quality 28%.

Required VRAM depends of FOV value. For this comparison a FOV=70 degrees was used.

Format = Cubic QTVR MOV
Image size = cube faces 1910 x 1910 (6000 / PI = 1910)
Jpeg quality = (pano2qtvr 40%)
File size = 2.63 MB
Required RAM = 87 MB
Required VRAM (fov = 70) = max 21 MB

Format = Equirectangular JPEG
Image size =  6000 x 3000
Jpeg quality =  (acdsee 28%)
File size = 2.66 MB
Required RAM = 73.2 MB
Required VRAM (fov 70) = max 28 MB (max at zenit and nadir)

Note: "Debug->Show info" function in this example shows total amount of RAM and VRAM used by two plugins. To see exact value for each panorama, use standalone player.
